I think i would prefer to fit whole sheets of celotex type insulation to the underside of the roof joists rather than in between.
How to insulate a corrugated roof.
Metal roof design vented atop additional wood sheathing weather barrier diagonal 1 x 4 wood strips.
From bottom to top of roof system wood sheathing slats vapor barrier rigid foam insulation 3 x 1 or 2 x 2 rigid foam insulation wood sheathing self adhered membrane corrugated metal roofing.
Polyurethane spray foam metal roof insulation.
Adjust the lap so that the last panel completes the coverage without making a cut lengthwise.
Not the cheapest option but easiest.
Before doing any work with the metal roof insulation you should have it brought up onto the roof.
This reduces the need to go up and down the ladder for tools pieces of insulation and making measurements.
Install silver foil roofing insulation over the mesh.
Compared to the fiberglass batts this insulation is much better.
Lay the insulation loosely over the purlin or truss structure the horizontal framework of beams helping to support the roof.
Continue across the roof until it is completely covered lapping over the previous panel by at least 2 5 inches 6 4 cm minimum.
Pre drill the holes and use 10 by 2 in 25 4 by 5 1 cm screws with polycarbonate washers.
This way you ll hopefully leave a good vent space between the insulation and the corrugated sheets the sheet metal itself will be stone cold and will attract condensation which will need to be vented to keep it and the joists dry.
Fix some galvanised mesh to the rafters batens.
The spray can be basically applied on top or bottom of the metal roofing surfaces.
Make all cuts to the foam panels on the roof for more accurate cuts and quicker placement.
Mesh stops the insulation from sagging.
Leave gaps between panels.
Lay the plywood perpendicular to the roof joists and fasten it in place using galvanized or stainless steel roofing nails.
Insulating a new metal roof step 1 install plywood or oriented strand board osb to act as structural roof sheathing.
Then filling any gaps left from fitting with expanding foam.
Financially speaking this spray is a great option especially when you need to renovate your roof after the application.
Cut panels on roof.
If your replacing the roofing shets why not just order insulated sheets.
The panel attachment in combination with the purlin or truss structure will secure the insulation.
Move onto next section.
Most of the roofing sheet companies will do you insulated sheets insulation thickness varies between 20mm and about 200.
I was thinking of getting some 50mm kingspan board cutting it and pushing it between the rafters.
